It is a good question . . . and one that we receive from time-to-time from new customers.
Measuring your existing pants is great. Our pants are TRUE-TO-SIZE . . . so don't just use your labels.
If your measurement falls in-between two sizes, you are what we call an “in-betweener.” You are in-between two even sizes. The perfect fit for you could go either way. We understand that's not specific, but we’ve seen this scenario hundreds of times. Ninety-Seven percent of the time, our even sizes hit the bell curve of the USA population. But three percent of the time, we get an “in-betweener.”
The smaller size might be OK for you. Some guys find that the smaller size is acceptable . . . it might be a little tighter around the waist, and if they have no butt or thinner thighs, the smaller waist size works out better . . . and the larger size would just be too large or too baggy.
Some guys desire the larger size and don’t mind the extra material. Some of our customers are very fussy about their fit and get a tailor to alter their larger size downward and some just leave it alone.

Our pants are toleranced on the upside. What does that mean? First, all products have a design target dimension plus some manufacturing tolerance for variations in the process. So for example, a CCW Breakaways 36” waist can vary in dimension from 36” to 37” and still be “in spec.” Second, all of our pants are washed, dried, and pressed prior to being sent to you . . . and this eliminates shrinking after you receive our clothes. This extra processing costs more, but you’re getting a more predictable and satisfying solution.

Here’s what we recommend to “in-betweeners.” Buy the smaller and buy the larger pants. Try both on . . . and then return the one that isn’t to your liking. This requires an extra step of inconvenience, but it ultimately saves time and money with shipping and exchanges. This approach has satisfied the major of CCW Breakaways clients.
And finally, we welcome you phone call. We’re happy to help you through the decision making process. Just call us at 717-774-2152 and one of our Customer Service Representatives will eagerly support you.
