Have you ever had your personal character assaulted by lies and distortions of truth? If so, you know it is right and proper to defend yourself and counter the lie with the truth and with proper actions.

Thousands of years ago, King Solomon taught us that, “A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed (respected for truth and integrity) is better than silver or gold.” Yes . . . anti-truthers have been with us since the Garden of Eden.

We know that lies produce fear . . . and fear produces irrational thought and behavior in people. We can easily observe this trend repeating in today’s media. So when you see ignorance, or a deliberate lie, counter it with truthful facts. How can we do that? First . . . stay informed, and here’s one way.

Each January, we Americans have become accustomed to hearing a State of the Union speech from our nation’s president. Please watch the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s CEO gives his State of the Firearms’ Industry speech and listen to the actions that the NSSF is taking to combat the lies about firearms owners and our Second Amendment right. In a short 8 ½ minutes, you will be armed with truth and facts. For all of our sake, please support their efforts.

Thomas Jefferson taught us that, “an educated citizenry is a vital requisite for our survival as a free people.”

As we run up to the 2020 election cycle, you can bet that we’ll encounter more lies about firearms owners and our industry. Commit to educating yourself, preserving your freedom, and saving lives. Get facts. Speak truth!
